About This Game In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran and soldier of the CLN, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind's greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be.Hard Reset is an action-packed, single-player shooter for the PC. With over-the-top destruction, loads of enemies, great weapon variety and a beautifully realized cyberpunk setting, Hard Reset is sure to shake up the shooter scene.Key features:A haunting cyberpunk / dark sci-fi settingFast-paced, old-school shooter gameplayHordes of enemies to destroyEpic boss fights A deep, experience-based weapon upgrade systemHigh-fidelity graphics with full dynamic lightingExtensive use of physics and dynamic environments 1075eedd30 Title: Hard Reset Extended EditionGenre: Action, IndieDeveloper:Flying Wild HogPublisher:Good Shepherd EntertainmentRelease Date: 12 Jul, 2012 Hard Reset Extended Edition Download No Survey Nice Game, though flawed. For example, the "secrets" most of the time aren't secrets at all but rather .... "oh, theres a staicase that leads both up-and downstairs. I'm supposed to get upstairs. Let's get downstairs... oh, there's a secret." Also, prepare for some pain dodging enemy fire, since every freakin' ranged weapon in this game seems to have AoE abilities, so dodging/hiding behind cover is nearly impossible - and most enemies are melee anyway. And while the Idea of only having 2 weapons, but both with 5 different mods and each mod having two modes is an interesting thought, in reality it makes things unnecessary complicated. I can still recommend it, as the low-priced game that it is, but if you are willing to pay a bit more to get a better game, get Shadow Warrior (2013) instead. Also by Flying Wild Hog, but superior in every regard. However, I can't deny that, as flawed as Hard Reset is, it is still a nice FPS to kill a few hours with. Especially if you happen to be a fan of cyberpunk-style. So, for the 80% Sale we're having right now: It is a damned steal. Go get it. Despite what I pointed out, it is fun as well - though I can't easily describe WHY. On a percentage scale, I'd give Hard Reset a 7/10.. Pretty solid game. There were a lot of complaints about its length, but if you play through the base game and the DLC, you're in for probably 10 or more hours of shooting good times. The weapons are interesting and the difficulty is high enough that I found I needed to use the crowd control mechanics extensively in order to get by.I played the game on Hard, which is the default setting I use when playing shooters, and this one was by far the hardest one I've played in recent memory. There was one boss fight in the original chapters I died 49 times on!One cool thing about the level design is that there are a lot of secrets tucked away in the levels which is something a lot of corridor shooters have lost over the years since the Doom II days. Some of the secrets are pretty easy to find, but some required really studying the options available in the room to figure out how to get to them. I highly recommend advancing to the Rail Gun or the RPG as fast as possible (accomplish this by checking the pre-reqs on it and focusing on them as high priority upgrades). The rest of the weapons do not do enough damage to really chip through the harder enemies fast enough. Again, this was on Hard. Maybe Normal is a cakewalk, I dunno.Overall, good game, probably didn't get the acknowledgement it deserved. One final note - the story is nigh incomprehensible, the VO often cringeworthy, the cutscenes okay, but the Cyberpunk setting is cool and you don't need to understand the story to enjoy blowing up endless waves of robots with a creatively versatile arsenal.. Good one for the price on sale. It's about one thing: Blowing lots of stuff up in sci fi arena like environments. Graphics are good, menus allow for customization. I'd pick it up if you are at all a fan of these shoot 'em ups. Tactical games can get boring. This will bring back what shooters were initially designed for...action and pure fun.. In the whole game you can''t crouch.. Hard Reset is a fast paced revivalistic shooter, a tribute to a kind of game that has nearly vanished from the gaming world and has been replaced with the "wanna be realsitic" shooters.Let me start off by saying the game looks amazing. Graphically impressive with an art style that matches the tone of the game perfectly. Weapon effects, explosions, rain... Everything looks top notch, especially this being the first game of a small company.Gameplay is fast and brutal. You only have acess to 2 weapons, one that uses bullets and the other electricity. "Just 2 weapons?" you might think. No, not REALLY 2 weapons, as each weapon can be upgraded and transformed into various other weapons at the same time, so the machine gun you start off with will be able to transform into a shotgun, a rocket luncher or a grenade luncher for example. Oh, and every "weapon" has secondary fire, and none of that "aiming down the sights" BS here either. Just run fast and hold down either fire button and have fun. There's also secret areas to be found, wich hide ammo, health or the currency you need to upgrade your weapons or health/armour and all that.Unlike most games of this genre, wich focus on humour (like Shadow Warrior or Serious Sam for instance), HR's tone is darker. As i said before, the artstyle matches this and so does the story, even if the plot is only serviceable most of the time.A really great, underrated game that deserves to be enjoyed by anyone. There's even a free DLC!
